After visiting the Colosseum, we were starving and looking for a local, authentic place to have lunch. We stumbled upon this simple, quiet pizzeria—and it turned out to be a hidden gem. They had a nice variety of pizzas, and even made two fresh ones: a classic Margherita and a delicious mushroom pizza.
The pizzas were incredibly light—not heavy or greasy at all—and packed with flavor. The simplicity made them even more satisfying and filling. The smell when they pulled them out of the oven was mouthwatering. You could really tell everything was freshly made with care.
This is a family-run business, and the people there were so kind and welcoming. They even invited us to help cut the pizza, and we took photos and videos of the whole experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, with great music playing in the background, and they offered a variety of drinks as well.
Sometimes, the best taste is the taste of simplicity and kindness—and that’s exactly what we found here.
Best of all, the prices were very reasonable—much more affordable than many other spots in the area. Honestly, it was the best pizza I’ve had in Rome. Highly recommended if you're looking for a warm, genuine, and delicious pizza experience near the Colosseum. Grazie mille🫶🏻- Cibo

They are a small shop, 5 min walk from the Colosseum. No decoration yet the food is yummy! The pizza crust is crispy and the tomato sauce and cheese are on point. The owner was nice to us and even let us go inside the counter for some photos after we finished and paid. Not a fancy place but highly recommend if you wanna try local food and have some nice moments. We fed 4 of us a good amount of food for 17 euros.- Servizio

Small local pizzeria with high quality flavors, we ate 2 pizzas, 2 drinks and 2 suppli for a total of €18! The pizza price is by weight, not slices so you can ask for as big or small as you want. Other restaurants costs the same just for one lackluster plate and here you get a full meal for 2. The owner is very kind and can speak some English to get your order.

Outstanding and unique pizza. The owner Piero helped me and my family to order with our limited Italian language skills. Everything looked good and my kids said that the ham with cheese pizza was one of the tastiest things they ever had. If you're near the Colosseum and looking for a place to grab one of the best pizzas in the area, make sure to see Piero. Eating here was one of the highlights of my trip to Italy!

Awesome spot we ran into after visiting the Colosseum. The place is small but it has a few seats. The pizzas were varied and the owner took his time to explain what each option was. The pizzas had great flavor and we enjoyed the owner’s hospitality. Great spot to get some pizza after a long day of exploring!

I showed up right as they opened and you can sit and have a beer while they take out all the pizzas they cooked. Nobody was there when I first showed up however, that was definitely a different store when I left. People started coming in one after another, after another! Worth getting there early, even if you are not hungry quite yet.

Stopped at this pizzeria on our first day in Rome near hotel. Pizza was delicious and enough for two people. Owner was very nice and attentive. Would recommend.

Piero’s pizza is an institution for local people, you just need to try it! Crunchy Roman style, a lot of variety and some incredibly good ex parmigiana pizza (super light and tasteful!). Piero and staff is super friendly and it makes a pleasure to enjoy his pizza !!!

Tasty, authentic Italian pizza slices, welcomi g host. Not a fancy place, simple, not overpriced for quick lunch. Looks like it’s a popular place for local citizens too.

We stopped in on a recommendation from RomeWise (YouTube travel blogger) and it didn't disappoint. After spending a hot morning touring the Colosseum and Forum, it was a 5-10 minute walk - just beyond the touristy places. It's definitely no frills, but the pizza, service and prices were great. A very welcome, quick/relaxed lunch to recharge. It's worth the quick walk!

This restaurant is outstanding, the staff is extremely kind and will explain everything in detail. The pizza was of course the highlight, soft and crunchy and it's also friendly to your wallet if you're on a budget!
